Our mileage yesterday was 291 and today we will cross into our fifth state, Wyoming.
The first thing we saw in the park was a bald eagle sat on its nest, followed by elk and buffalo.
After about 90 mins we arrived at Mammoth Hot Springs for the the first stop of the day. We walked around Canary Hot Springs, which were pretty amazing
and then we walked to Palette Springs.
It's all go.
John is desperately trying to drink a hot chocolate, which isn't easy when the bus is winding it's way up a narrow, twisty road.
Now we are on our way to Old Faithful, which is about 60 miles away. The distances are unbelievable.
We just missed the noon eruption so had lunch and then found ourselves perfect seats and sat and waited for the 1:10 eruption which was a whole minute early. Good job we weren't setting our watches.
Before
After
It didnt disappoint and immediately the eruption had finished we had to make our way back to the bus to move on to the next spectacle. Guess who got lost and ended up being last back!
Blue star spring
Chinese spring
The view on the walk to yet more springs.
Notice the eruption taking place in the next photo of Excelsior Spring.
A bubbling mud pool.
We have been very lucky with the weather today after a dodgy start. They say the sun shines on the righteous and it's obviously true. Since about 9:30 we've had sunshine and the weather has slowly warmed, until right now when I've had to shed a couple of layers.
Our last stop is Yellowstone Canyon and its from here that Yellowstone Park gets its name.
What a fantastic day. It has more than lived up to expectations, especially the weather turning out so brilliant.

Amazing! Yellowstone is definitely on our list of places to visit. Can't believe you got lost. Tut tut.
